As humans, we have physical, mental, emotional & spiritual needs & when we find our needs unmet, it causes stress. While some stress is easily managed, other life stressors can become burdensome. Stress may be exacerbated in the body as a myriad of somatic (physical) symptoms: low/mood swings, loss of interest, poor concentration, changes in appetite, lack of energy, sleep disturbance, increased or irregular heart rate, chest pain, breathlessness, feelings of panic, migraines, general aches & pains, etc. The list goes on!

This is where the common misconception of therapy lies: Therapy is only for when times are hard. NO! Therapy is a useful tool to help you transition through any and all life experiences, whether it be positive or negative! I believe that all illness & disease (DIS-ease) can be alleviated with the mind’s overwhelmingly powerful energy. I incorporate an eclectic, holistic therapeutic approach, which helps clients heal by incorporating the entire human being & their life experiences into consideration for assessment & treatment purposes. I will always center treatment on the individual & whatever your needs & desires for the outcome of therapy.

The aim of therapy is helping my clients heal themselves; believe it or not, you already hold all the answers to heal your own ailments! To accomplish this, we need to first identify the root cause of your stress. Second, develop strong, healthy coping mechanisms to handle your stressors while simultaneously retraining your brain to think in healthier ways & patterns.

Our therapeutic relationship will be centered on trust while allowing you a safe space to share whatever burdens you may be carrying. It is always my hope to develop a therapeutic alliance by engaging with my client to effect beneficial change in your life.

I sought my own personal therapy after my father died during my first semester as a college freshman at the age of 19. It was during my first session that I became aware of my calling, my purpose: My life’s work would be centered on guiding others to heal the self through their own mind. I have learned that becoming truly conscious, aware of our internal dialogue & being able to be fully present is essential in the healing & growth process. My journey has not been one of ease & with the aid of therapy, I have processed through my own share of life’s traumas. I know how challenging the process can be, but know this: Trust the process. Your journey is exactly that, yours alone! There is always time to become a better version of yourself. I am still an active participant in my own therapy & know that there will always be room for further growth mentally, emotionally & spiritually. We all harness the power to become our own self-healer.

I strongly believe we are all one perspective away from the peaceful, fulfilling internal life we all crave as humans.

I received my B.S. in Psychology from University of Houston-Downtown in 2012 & gained my Masters in Counseling Psychology (M.S.) from Houston Baptist University in 2014. I trained at Jester IV Psych Prison in Richmond, TX & Cypress Creek Psychiatric Hospital in Spring, TX where these populations gave me an abundant wealth of knowledge in acute psychiatric care, as well as on the individual, group & family therapy levels.

My experience includes: private practice, diagnostic & evaluation, psych testing, inpatient/outpatient, partial hospitalizations, acute care & stabilization, individual, group, & family therapy in adolescent & adult populations.

I take clients 17+ & my specialties include: life transitions, coping with life experiences, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, grief, self-esteem issues, general life stresses.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) & also hold certifications as a Parenting Coordinator, Civil Mediator, Advanced Civil Mediator and Family & Divorce Mediator.
